What an amazing feeling to be back blogging and to announce that I've finally written that book I've always wanted to write. My heart skips a beat every time I say the following words "You can find my book on amazon.com. Just click on the book above to get your own copy and hopefully I'll get to sign it at my book signing to be announced later."
The question everyone has been asking me is "so what's your book about?"
It's a reference book written to my daughter Jawaher who is currently three years old. In the first chapter, I give her brief on where she comes from. She is Saudi by nationality, born and lives in Kuwait with an American Grandmother. An interesting combination where West meets East and how that may effect her way of thinking as she grows up. I also talk about her Grandparents stories on how they met. She never met my Dad. I found out I was pregnant with her a month after he died and I wanted to share with her some of the history I knew of my Father.
For the rest of the book, I talk about my life's experiences and what I learnt as I went along. The chapters are broken down into important events or life issues that effect one's life from all aspects. Some titles of chapters include subjects such as education (school), friendships, love, money, death, single hood and career in which I write tips for her to keep in mind if she finds herself in similar situations.
The book is written for teenagers and young adults to help them in their journey of life no matter where they come from.
Of course, life's experiences never end and this blog will be a continuation of some tips and advice based on what I'm constantly learning from the classroom of my life.
In my next post, I'll be talking about bullying in school and how I was able to overcome that phase in my life by simply changing my strategy and finding a solution waiting for me just around the corner.
